1. Definitions
In these Terms & Conditions, the following definitions apply:
• “Jubal Dahabiya”, “we”, “us”, “our” refers to Jubal Dahabiya and its operators, staff, and agents.
• “Guest”, “you”, “““your” refers to the individual making a booking and all persons included in that booking.
• “Booking” means a confirmed reservation for a cruise itinerary aboard the Jubal Dahabiya vessel.
• “Services” means the cruise experience, accommodation, meals, excursions, and any other services provided by Jubal Dahabiya.
• “Itinerary” means the specific route, dates, and program agreed at the time of booking.
2. Bookings & Reservations
2.1 How to Book
Bookings may be made via our website at jubaldahabiya.com, by email to info@jubaldahabiya.com, or through an authorised travel agent. A booking is confirmed only once you have received a written confirmation from Jubal Dahabiya and a deposit has been received.
2.2 Booking Accuracy
It is your responsibility to ensure that all details provided at the time of booking — including names, passport information, nationality, and contact details — are accurate. Jubal Dahabiya cannot be held liable for any loss or additional costs resulting from incorrect information provided by the Guest.
2.3 Minimum Age
All guests must be at least 12 years of age to sail aboard Jubal Dahabiya. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. The lead booking party must be 18 years of age or older.
3. Pricing & Payment
3.1 Prices
All prices quoted are in USD (US Dollars) unless stated otherwise. Prices include all services specified in the itinerary. Any optional extras — such as additional excursions, gratuities, flights, or visa fees — are not included unless explicitly stated.
3.2 Deposit
A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. The deposit amount will be specified in your booking confirmation.
3.3 Final Payment
The remaining balance is due as specified in your booking confirmation (typically 30 days before departure). Failure to make payment by the due date may result in the cancellation of your booking without a refund of the deposit.
3.4 Price Changes
We reserve the right to revise prices prior to booking confirmation due to changes in government taxes, fuel costs, exchange rates, or other factors beyond our control. Once a booking is confirmed in writing, the price is guaranteed.
4. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@jubaldahabiya.com. The cancellation date is the date on which we receive your written notification. The following charges apply:
61+ days before departure: 100% refund — no cancellation charge
60–31 days before departure: 50% of the total booking value will be charged
30–15 days before departure: 75% of the total booking value will be charged
14 days or less before departure: 100% of the total booking value is non-refundable
Deposits are non-refundable in all circumstances. We strongly recommend all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes cancellation cover.
4.1 No-Show
Guests who fail to arrive at the departure point at the agreed time without prior notice will be treated as a cancellation within 14 days and no refund will be issued.
4.2 Cancellation by Jubal Dahabiya
We reserve the right to cancel a booking in exceptional circumstances, including but not limited to: force majeure events (see Section 9), insufficient bookings, or safety concerns. In such cases, we will offer either a full refund of all amounts paid or, where possible, an alternative sailing date of equal value.
5. Itinerary Changes
The itinerary described in your booking is subject to change. Jubal Dahabiya reserves the right to modify the route, visiting order, or programme due to:
• Weather conditions or Nile water levels
• Decisions by Egyptian authorities or local regulations
• Safety considerations
• Circumstances beyond our reasonable control
We will always endeavour to provide an equal or superior alternative experience. No refund will be due for itinerary modifications made in good faith.
6. Guest Responsibilities
6.1 Travel Documents
Guests are solely responsible for ensuring they hold valid travel documents, including a current passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date) and any required visas. Jubal Dahabiya accepts no liability for any costs or losses resulting from a guest's failure to comply with entry requirements.
6.2 Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and considered essential. Insurance should cover, as a minimum: trip cancellation, medical expenses, emergency repatriation, and personal liability.
6.3 Health & Fitness
Guests are responsible for ensuring they are in suitable health to participate in the cruise and any excursions. Please notify us at the time of booking of any medical conditions, dietary requirements, or mobility restrictions so we may make appropriate arrangements.
6.4 Code of Conduct
All guests are expected to treat fellow guests, crew members, and local communities with respect. Jubal Dahabiya reserves the right to disembark any guest whose behaviour is deemed dangerous, disruptive, or offensive, without refund.
6.5 Egyptian Law & Customs
Guests must comply with all Egyptian laws and customs throughout their journey. This includes appropriate dress when visiting religious sites. Jubal Dahabiya is not liable for any legal consequences arising from a guest's failure to observe local laws.
7. Health, Safety & the Vessel
The safety of our guests and crew is our highest priority. Please observe all safety instructions provided by the Captain and crew at all times. Safety briefings will be conducted at the commencement of each voyage.
• Guests must attend the mandatory safety briefing at the start of the cruise.
• Swimming in the Nile is not permitted.
• Alcohol consumption is permitted in moderation; disruptive behaviour resulting from alcohol use will not be tolerated.
• Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas.
• The Captain has absolute authority over the vessel and may override the itinerary for safety reasons at any time.
8. Liability
8.1 Our Liability
Jubal Dahabiya is liable for the proper performance of the Services described in your booking confirmation. In the event of any failure in our Services, we will take appropriate steps to remedy the situation or provide compensation proportionate to the degree of failure.
8.2 Limitation of Liability
Our liability to you shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the booking. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of enjoyment, loss of earnings, or third-party claims, except where such liability is imposed by law.
8.3 Third-Party Excursions & Services
Where Jubal Dahabiya arranges or facilitates excursions, activities, or services operated by third-party suppliers, those suppliers' own terms and conditions will apply. We accept no liability for the acts, omissions, or defaults of third-party providers.
8.4 Personal Belongings
Jubal Dahabiya is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings, valuables, or luggage aboard the vessel or during excursions. Guests are advised to use in-cabin storage and to carry adequate insurance.
9. Force Majeure
Jubal Dahabiya shall not be liable for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, war, terrorism, civil unrest, pandemics or disease outbreaks, strikes, flooding, government or regulatory actions, or any other event outside our control.
In such circumstances, we will endeavour to offer alternative arrangements where possible. If a refund is due, this will be provided minus any irrecoverable costs already incurred.
10. Complaints
Should you have a complaint during your cruise, please raise it immediately with the Captain or the senior crew member on board, so that we have the opportunity to resolve the issue promptly.
If your complaint has not been resolved to your satisfaction during the voyage, please submit a written complaint to info@jubaldahabiya.com within 28 days of your return. We will investigate and respond within 30 days.
11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Egyptian courts.
12. Amendments to These Terms
Jubal Dahabiya reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be published on jubaldahabiya.com/terms-and-conditions. The terms in effect at the time of your booking confirmation will apply to your reservation.
